$#*! My Dad Says ( 8:30 pm EST on CBS)

From the creators of Will & Grace comes a hilarious new comedy based on a Twitter user who created an entire feed on stuff that his dad said. William Shatner stars as the hilarious Ed Goodson. The exciting thing is, it’s only Tuesday. Here are some more new and returning shows that will be on network television tonight.

New Shows

Running Wilde (9:30 pm EST on Fox)

Steven Wilde (Will Arnett) is a Beverly Hills millionaire who ends up falling in love with a friend from his past, Emmy Kadubic (Keri Russell). Emmy and Steven could not be more different. Steven is focused on material items and money where Emmy is concerned with helping people and the environment. Will Arnett is perfect for this role as it seems very similar to the role he played on Arrested Development.

Detroit 1-8-7 (10 pm EST on ABC)

If you’re looking for another crime drama to add to your list check out Detroit 1-8-7. This show takes us to some of the meanest streets in America – those of Detroit, Michigan. This show is sure to be packed with action, light comedy and plenty of drama.

Raising Hope (9 pm EST on FOX)

In Raising Hope, Jimmy Chance (Lucas Neff) is a young man left to raise his daughter and he has no clue where to start. New TV Shows Premiering Monday, September 20, 2010

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Greetings again my fellow media enthusiasts! We are staring down an amazing week as the new fall television shows are premiering.

If you enjoy television as much as I do, you know how important it is to catch the first episode of a new show so you can follow the storyline in weeks to follow. The difficult part is picking which new shows to add to your current (and more than likely expansive) DVR list. Thankfully, ConsumeU is here to help shed some light on a few of the new shows premiering tonight.

The Event (9 pm EST on NBC)

One of the shows getting a great deal of hype on NBC is the drama The Event. Sean Walker (Jason Ritter) is a seemingly ordinary man on a romantic cruise with his girlfriend Leila (Sarah Roemer) and about to propose to her when she mysteriously goes missing. Sean is determined to find her and in the process uncovers one of the greatest cover-ups in U.S. history. There are so many layers in this show that there is no clear understanding of what “The Event” is…yet. Check out this show if you’re into conspiracy and drama.

Chase (10 pm EST on NBC)

If you’re looking for crime drama television where the lead agent is not only talented but attractive, The Chase is for you. U.S. Marshall Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish) is your typical cowboy boot clad country girl who enjoys nothing more than tracking down the bad guys. Frost has a team of talented agents that help her discover fugitives and bring them to justice. At 10 pm eastern time, you’ll have to stay up late to catch this one!

Lone Star (9 pm EST on Fox)

Bob Allen (James Wolk) is your everyday con man, leading two separate lives in Texas. In one of his lives he lives with his wife Cat (Adrianne Palicki), who is the daughter of an extremely wealthy oil tycoon. Bob spends a great deal of time trying to impress Cat’s father in order to ensure that he is in line to take over the family oil business. One life of course is not enough for Bob as he also spends time with his girlfriend Lindsey (Eloise Mumford) in Midland. Bob spends most of his time in Midland scamming unknowing investors out of their money to which Lindsey is not aware. Bob will be forced to make a decision when Cat’s father offers the oil business to him. Does he want to settle down with Cat or does he want to continue to lead two separate lives believing that he loves both women? Will he be a con man forever of will his desire for a real life win him over? This looks to be a very interesting drama.

Mike & Molly (9:30 pm EST on CBS)

The sitcom can be difficult to master. Sometimes the producers think they have a hit on their hands and it ends up not going over well when it hits the airwaves. Mike & Molly is another show trying to find a place in our hearts as a great new romantic comedy. Molly Flynn (Melissa McCarthy) is a single fourth grade teacher who is looking for love and finds it at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting, where she meets policeman Mike Biggs (Billy Gardell), who shares her feelings. Can these seemingly normal individuals find themselves, and each other? This show is produced by Chuck Lorre (Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory) and Mark Roberts (The Big Bang Theory) which gives it a great chance at success. Be sure to watch the credits  closely for what is sure to be another of Chuck’s hilarious rants, which usually appear as a fake disclaimer at the tail end of the show!

Hawaii Five-O (10 pm EST on CBS)

Although the characters are the same, this is not the Hawaii Five-O that premiered back in 1968. This Hawaii Five-O will still follow all of your favorite characters like Detective Danny “Danno” Williams (Scott Caan) and Detective Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim) but the storylines and the action will be ramped way up. The pilot is sure to be filled with action so set your DVR now in case you fall asleep! Book ‘em, Danno.
